SOME BACKGROUND
Restored By Nature, started out as a hobby business, which began out of my enjoyment of nature and art, and at one time the need for a job. I found myself searching for something creative I could do that would be useful to people as well. I enjoy the process of searching for furniture that has history, life left in it and would be a good palate for artwork. I found that furniture with scratches or dings or a few wobbles was not of much use to many people, but to me, I saw potential. In addition, I enroll the help of family and friends with cameras and pictures they have taken over the years. I can also take orders for photos that customers would like to have rendered on a table or a piece of furniture or just that special spot on a wall in their homes.
Nothing goes quickly with these pieces, hours of sanding, layers of paint and sanding again to get the right finish for legs and skirts. The tops are sanded to 400 to 600 grit (depending on the type of wood) and the painting process begins for the image, which for some pieces can take 3 to 6 months to finish depending on the complexity of the piece, smaller pieces require only a few days. So far it has been a labor of peace, relaxation and a sense of joy.
I am grateful to those who have helped us with our small venture. God's creations are abundant in nature and in the hands that built the furniture.
