Getting busy is great, but sometimes it leaves me with little time to create a blog. I have written some on my other site on Etsy.com but getting them transferred here is whole different time consuming activity. I spend a lot of my day working on special order projects, which makes it hard to stock my store with cute little things I would love to sell. But all the activities with working with wood, art and nature, make my days enjoyable, so I am grateful for all of them.
I have managed to create some really wonderful works and some just cute fun things. These little "Farm Fresh Eggs" signs are great for gifts to neighbors who have chickens or who just like rustic decor. I made one for my neighbor and decided to create some extras. Something I enjoy and so did she...I even put one up in my entryway.

Custom orders are really great because I get to spend a lot of time working with the customer on exactly what they need for their home. I make a new friend and learn what I am capable of doing with my artistic talents.

This piece is a fireplace mantel with Flamboyant Tree flowers on it. It was such a joy to create and see the finished product and know that our customer will be receiving a piece that will last a lifetime for their family. I also learned a lot about flowers along the way. This is the national tree of Puerto Rico and is found in tropical regions of the world.

I have also found that creating things out of things I have here on the ranch is a great way to recycle. I built this dog bed out of all an unused pallet that my husband received some car parts on. It was so clean and the wood pristine. I added some new lumber and choice of fabric and some lucky dog gets a great new bed.

As always nature inspires me to build useful products for the home. The sparrows really inspired a lamp that I thought would make a great addition to any nature lovers home. Looking up and seeing them flying overhead, with a few of my favorite flowers. So this was a project I was able to make in my spare time when I didn't have orders in progress. My husband often helps me with the metal work process and designs on how to hang our lamps. I enjoy the collaboration.
I hope to continue to find time to add pieces to our store, in the meantime I will continue to work to create custom pieces. It is an amazing process to be a part of and I do feel extremely blessed.
I do want to say congratulations to our drawing winner and I hope to have her bench ready for her very soon! It has been started. I will post more about how this starts to come together soon.

Have a wonderful and blessed day.
